Subject: Bedford Hotel
My Grandparents, Samuel and Chris Swales managed The Bedford from 1933 to 1938 and my mother, Christina Swales, lived there too. I was told it was across from the Cricket Ground.
The Whitbread Brewery owned several establishments, one of which was the Bedford Hotel and Pub, my grandparents had purchased the right, or license, to manage it.
Together we can build a wonderful archive of Hastings photos from the past and present day so that future generations can enjoy them.
If you have any interesting local photos from the current day or dating back as far as Edwardian or Victorian times then we would love to feature them in our archive for display and preservation on this website. Upload Your Pictures
