on 14 May 2021 Christopher Watford said In September 1940, my father took me down to the beach, just to the west of the boating lake, when I was almost 5 years old, and we watched while the pilot of a German plane that had crashed in the sea was rescued and brought ashore. I wonder how many of the crowds of local people on the beach that day are still alive and remember this incident ? -
