hello, my great grandfather Michael Sullivan was the first principle of the Art School housed in the Brassey Institute. He worked there for 40 years. Any information or pictures would be very welcome.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am compiling 2x 250 page volumes on Kenmore Hospital near Goulburn NSW Australia. The architect was Walter Vernon the man who designed the Brassey Institute. Do you know if the photograph on your web site is copyright or as it is over 100 years old in the public domain? In either case could I obtain permission to use it or simply attribute the source to a particular association? Your help would be most appreciated.
Yours faithfully,
Phillip Leighton-Daly. -
Hi Philip. Thanks for doing the right thing and asking. The image is not in the public domain. This print is in my private collection of Hastings related memorabilia. However you are welcome to use it with an acknowledgement to 1066 Online. Best of luck with the volumes on Kenmore Hospital - sounds really interesting!

This engraving appeared in "The Building News", June 6th, 1879, with a caption along the lower edge of the image giving the name of the building and architect. I have an original copy.

Dear 1066 contributor, I would like to use and cite this photograph for a university essay on Walter Liberty Vernon please. It is great to find evidence of his work prior to migrating to Australia. Thank you and Regards Sharryn Bowman

Hi Sharryn, thanks for asking. Yes that's fine to use the image in your essay.
