This was Heppell & Sweatmans (Builders} from the late 1800's to about 1970's. Yard and office in Priory Street. On the left is the workshops above the old stables, on the first floor was the joiners shop with machinery working off pullies and belts run from one motor, the top floor was the Plumbers workshop where lead and copper work was made up. I joined these builders as a Carpenters Apprentice in 1962, age 15, and have good memories of all the old craftsmen that worked for them, we did many Public house repairs and alterations, hospital repairs and alterations at the 5 local units, many hotel and public buildings works as well as general house building.
