Was 5 - having just had tonsils out. Have many fairly dramatic memories of WW2 and this was one. Just remember it was very dark, lots of noise, and bright flashing lights. We had to get out of our metal barred cots, and crouch on floor underneath. Nurses put sides down, and then knelt on floor beside us. Were very kind. It was a bit like being in a cage. Just one of fairly dramatic war time memories. Don't think I was scared. Couldn't do anything anyway. Think told later bomb fell nearby and didn't actually hit hospital.
