Did part of my SRN training here....was done in conjunction with RESH and St Helens...the Buchanan was Gynae and Midwifery.

My Dad was in here with appendicitis in 1946 and I spent 16 weeks in here in 1947 with rheumatic fever & a weak heart. They must have done a good job as I am 80 in a couple of weeks. My Wife had our first baby boy in here and did voluntary work a bit later on for a while. All gone but the memories linger on.

I was born here in 1953, it was mainly a maternity hospital by this time.
