on 10 May 2016 Albert said I think this image is from Summer 1958 when they demolished the derelict Royal Oak and the old Abraham's shop. The Royal Oak was off the photo's right edge and Abraham's was on the right edge. The centre section was a bombed site which was demolished in 1953 if memory serves me correctly. -

on 09 Sep 2026 Rob321 said For added context, the shop second from left (white, with dark window frames) would have been "Redfearns" as referred to in (I think) picture 594.
During the 1970s (?) through to the early 2000s, the shop "Borgeauds" was the Trading Pos, specialising in ex-military clothing and kit, plus camping stuff and household items etc.
