My family always enjoyed a walk up to the gardens in the summer to look at the floral designs. Excellent craftsmanship of the horticulture department.
Sadly in these times of austerity, those bits of 'icing on the cake' .are less and less common and we are even getting to a situation of no cake at all! -
I walk past these gardens each morning and the clock bed is always in great fettle with flowers of the season. If the money for the wages and plants was available the council would employ the parks and gardens employees to plant a great summer show in white rock gardens. Unfortunately In austerity times we may have to wait for this.
