I was excited to find the 2 photos you have from the Geoff Wolfe Collection of Henderson House and Dining Room. These are from a series of postcards produced (I can remember one of the Billiard Room). I lived there from 1947 to 1955 (aged 7 to 13). This was a holiday home run by the Henderson Trust for the poor people of Hampstead and my mother was matron. There are many happy memories I have of the house and Hastings.
I am visiting Sussex week commencing 20th July
Many thanks

great to see that old photo of henderson house. we played in the grounds in the 60,s and there was an old maze we used to play in. there was 2 lodge houses and the main house had been demolished but the veranda still existed. it was always a mystery to me what the house would have looked like so it was good to see the photo. i used to wonder and still do who lived there. if any local historian knows it would be very interesting. there are lots of men my age who would have taken a short cut through the grounds to st helens woods and hastings grammar school

This is how a remember the house and grounds - was there in early 60s when my mother was matron. Shame they had to demolish but understand quite an expensive upkeep. Found this as i was searching for material for a book on my life for my children.
