I think the Lindens became a retirement and Nursing home run by the Salvation Army as my Aunt spent her last few years here in the Early 1980's.I visit her a couple of times before she died and she was very grateful for the care that she received.

In the 1800's the Lindens was a school.

They had an early rugby football team and one of the first football teams in Hastings and probably played on the pitch which was situated on the Green, just up the road.
