I remember being a sea ranger when the old lifeboat house was our meeting place. My family lived at 30 west street. I am now 82 but have vivid memories of my life in Hastings....... Evacuation with Cavendish Place Infants,AllSaints School with Mr Richford and Miss Horsefield(Old Ma Donk), Swimming and diving with the ducklings, the High School on the Ridge, Hockey with South Saxons and much, much more!

So both of you may just be old enough to remember old "Weasel" White, who used to sit outside the lifeboat house, overlooking the boating lake, puffing his pipe ? I think he was a retired captain of the lifeboat ? My father took me to see him, probably 1945, but could have been before WW2 , when we lived at 67 High Street.
