I rode on this miniature railway many times in the 1950's and took some photos in the 1960's whilst on holiday.
I think it was this engine which was painted yellow that I took a photo of. -
Picture is at Conquerers Bay station, 1948. This was the first year the railway operated in the old town following the move from Grosevenor Gardens in St Leonard’s by the old bathing pool. The picture gives away the year as in 1949 the railway line was extended a further 70 yards to where the passing loop now is.

I have a photo of me on this Railway, sitting on my Godfather's lap. I was howling! The 'Station' was named Southsea and would have been taken in the latter part of 1954 or early 1955 as I would have been 1.5 years old! The Rolling Stock is the same as in the picture but no photo's of the Train itself. The shot which includes Mum (recently passed away at 92), and Roy, my Godfather who also passed away several years ago. Happy Days. All my Father's family came from hastings since at least the 1860s, probably earlier, so my Dad was 'called' by his forebears to make many trips there and had several Holidays. He and Mum ended up there where Dad passed away and Mum was taken back to Surrey where we originally came from.
