I remember riding on this open bus and seeing it regularly in my summer holidays in the 1950's & 60's. I think it ran for many years and may be preserved. I think it was 1/6d old money about 8p when most longish bus /Trolley journeys were 6d (2 1/2p) from Hollington to the sea front via London Road.

I used to love going.on this bus. We spent many happy holidays late 50s early 60s. We got on at the boating lake old town. The driver would stop at various spots and tell you interesting things. Now at 68 it brings back fond memories.

Just as a nice aside for anyone who remembers riding on this bus, a 1946 model Regal, HKL826 is still in existence as of 2019! Now in the hands of the North East Bus Preservation Trust.
