What an idyllic and genteel scene.
The peace and quiet must have been so taken for granted by those in the picture.
Seeing this makes one realise that progress is such a destructive force.
I have not been to Hastings since 2010 (Mums funeral), but even the hectic Silverhill I
knew in the 50s' and 60s' could never foresee the wholesale decay of 'improvements'
that were to come.

That seems to be looking uo towards Sedllecombe Road South which runs south becoming the Green and then Upper Maze Hill
