If you walk backwards from here a little way you come to the football pitches where we used to play when at Clive Vale juniors/seniors and Priory Road seniors. In the winter the old heavy leather balls used to weigh a ton and woe betide you if you were stupid enough to make a header. I spent most of the game trying to boot the ball over the fence and cliff edge to the beach below. Game over all go home early. Further back still was a caravan park where in the summer me and a mate would cycle over early in the morning with stale bread and throw on to the roofs of the vans, the sound of a hundred hungry seagulls feasting away was akin to a machine gun going off. Happy days eh....
