History of Breeds Place

Breeds Place

A Georgian terrace built by James Landsell in 1829 once stood where the Job Centre now resides in Breeds Place, at the bottom of which was Mastin’s, a well known local store.

The terrace was demolished to make way for the current building in the 1960’s.

The South African war memorial on the promenade was unveiled in 1903, made of red Peterhead granite with flags of gunmetal.
