  • Shit & Shine

Hailing from Austin, Texas. Craig Clouse, the hardest working man in the business, has released everything from pounding and shiny techno to acid house, electro, funk, krautrock, hip hop, found sound, spoken word, live percussions He is uninterested in the self imposed restrictions of genre. He has carved out a unique spot in machine music. He's certainly skilled to have been kicking about this long, but one of his most appealing traits is that he approaches music with the fervour of an enthusiastic amateur (Mr. Childish ethos comes to mind). 2018's You Were Very High EP, established something of a watershed moment for the majority of his current sound. After weeks of sitting at a sampler loaded with anything and everything Black Sabbath, Rihanna, Prince, Steely Dan and a host of audio lifted from YouTube clips, the record's two sprawling sides come together like a hallucinogenic sonic miracle.

To give you an idea of the wide expanse of the Shit & Shine universe, recent live highlights include an appearance at Convenanza Festival in France (the brainchild of a certain Andrew Weatherall) and in Feb 2025 Shit & Shine have a two day residency at Cafe Oto, London. So, as part of the February tour we're very lucky to have Shit & Shine visit Hastings to play the backroom of The Pig.

The tour was recorded, producing the outstanding live album, ‘Shadows And Light’; it is from this album that the band Hejira is drawing the body of its repertoire. With lifelong friend Guy Bailey, Spike penned the benchmark Quireboys songs - such as Hey You, I Don't Love You Any More and 7 O'Clock - tracks which have defined the band musically for decades and, to this day, remain the hallmark songs of any Quireboys show. Spike has also had a succession of critically acclaimed solo records and treasured collaborations..

  • WREN present 'BLACK RAIN FALLS' with support from WARREN SCHOENBRIGHT + RUSTORM

London based WREN return to Hastings to perform their new album 'Black Rain Falls' (Church Road Records) in full.

With support from WARREN SCHOENBRIGHT (Human Worth) and local doom sludge trio RUSTORM.

For over a decade WREN have meticulously crafted a sound and aesthetic inspired by the complex nature of the lived human condition; being as cathartic as it is bleak. They aspire to connect with each person encountering their music, be it through recorded or live listening. In whatever way it is experienced the music is a visceral offering to its audience to take from it what they will.

The theme inherent throughout Black Rain Falls is the shared grief of the band members. The members of the band experienced a tragic loss that has redefined their reasons for living and playing music.

WREN have played hundreds of shows across the UK and Europe with bands including Kowloon Walled City (USA), Inter Arma (USA), Unsane (USA), Forn (USA), Moloch (UK), Birds In Row (FR) and more, and played at festivals such as Damnation, Arctangent, Desertfest, Incubate (NL) and Raw Power to name a few.

  • Tygers of Pan Tang

Robb Weir is never a man to take what he has for granted. Having led the Tygers since their first album through a plethora of line-up changes he recognises that the current Tygers are probably the strongest since they were at the forefront of the NWOBHM. The original band, who made 4 albums for MCA records, survived the unexpected departure of Jess Cox to run Neat records and later John Sykes, who was bound for Thin Lizzy and a multi-million seller with Whitesnake. What they didn't survive was their greatest commercial success with the album 'The Cage'. However, Weir, ever the optimist, formed a new version of the band to both play the old material and write songs that would represent this 'new' Tygers. The backbone of the band - Craig Ellis on drums, together with Jack Meille on vocals have now been together for considerably longer than the first Tygers and were joined by Francesco Marras on guitar and Huw Holding on bass for their 2023 album 'Bloodlines' an album that is turning up on many 'Best Album of 2023' lists.

Together, they drive a broad terrain of musical textures, with foot-tapping and floor-thumping dance rhythms. Then don't miss the much anticipated return of the legendary Mr Wilson's Second Liners, a traditional New Orleans style second line band paying homage to the diehard days of the Hacienda and 90s club culture.

Keep on dancing to the tracks spun by two legendary dance DJs Justin Robertson and John Carter. Robertson is a producer and DJ, who brings with him a rich history as one of the creators of the Electronic Music scene, whilst Carter was instrumental in developing the form of electronic dance music that became known as big beat, with its mix of rock, hip-hop and breakbeat.

New for 2025 - join the late night party in the White Rock Studio where Civil Partners (in Crime) Lemur Beats will take you on a genre-blurring, time-hopping journey through house, techno, afro-disko, twisted global funk, and more. Don't miss it!

Hastings Fat Tuesday Music Festival will return in its full form in 2025. Some funding has been secured to deliver a full festival, but we still need a little extra help to allow us to keep the main festival elements free for all, including our community and school umbrella workshops, our family parade and our main music tours. Please consider adding a donation to your ticket.

Just six live gigs later he claimed The City Life North West Comedian Of The Year award, launching a career that would cement him as a household name across the United Kingdom.

Jason’s been busy since his last smash-hit stand up show but fans of his Absolute Radio show will know this nationally acclaimed comedian hasn’t changed a bit. Jack J Hutchinson Who is Jack J Hutchinson? A blues troubadour? A Southern rockin songsmith? A guitar-shredding warrior? The fedora-wearing rocker wears all of these with so much buried within. Hutchinson has walked long, hard miles to this point, and the road strewn with obstacles, frustration and difficulties builds resilience and hunger. Nothing worth having comes easily. One of the things thats kept me going is that I can kinda take the punches and keep going, he says with a casual defiance. A lot has happened over the years. Ive learnt that the one person I can rely on is myself. The only way Ive found myself dealing with it all is to channel it into creativity. Hutchinsons brand new album Battles builds on the momentum gained having shared bills across the planet with bands including Blackberry Smoke, ZZ Top and Jeff Beck. The record crash landed in the UK Official Independent Album Chart Top 20, gaining over 120K streams in its first week alone. It features two Planet Rock playlisted tracks Constellations and Bullets plus Days Are Gone, which was featured on the BBC Radio 2 Rock Show. Hutchinson takes the album on the road throughout 2025, building on a 10 year touring career that has included multiple headline tours of the UK, America, Brazil, Spain and Czech Republic, plus festival appearances in Germany, Switzerland and France.

  • Chantel McGregor

Yorkshires very own Chantel McGregor. Her shy, girl next door, off stage persona combined with her soft spoken Yorkshire accent belie the power and energy of her performance on stage. Chantel didnt become a professional musician by accident. Shes been performing live gigs since the age of 12, schooled at a music college and achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Popular Music. Along with her current band members, Colin Sutton on bass and Thom Gardner on drums, they form an awesome power trio playing an eclectic mix of blues based tunes, composed by Chantel, ranging from traditional blues numbers complimented perfectly by the purity of her singing voice, to a much more raunchy blues rock style. And boy, can that girl play guitar! With several complicated solos she proved that she can shred with the best of them as her and her guitar became one. I know that there were plenty of people there at the Blues Stage to see Ritchie Kotzen later that day, Chantel included, however I was left completely mesmerised and for me, Chantel was guitarist of the festival.' Review of Ramblin' Man Fair, July 2019 Metal Planet Music The Blues came calling first, but rock was always waiting around the corner. Well it would be, wouldnt it? Coming from the deep south, it was inevitable, but living in the deep south of a major Yorkshire City, theres a gritty hard edge to life! A female guitar prodigy, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a "great voice, but girls don't play guitar like that!" Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the colleges history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the colleges musician of the year award. Chantel released her highly anticipated second album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, this being the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other. After years of touring and festival appearances, Chantel returned with a vengeance with ten new songs that not only salutes contemporary rock, but shows her gradual transition from conventional Blues to a harder, bigger and bolder rock sound with progressive influences. The single, Take The Power, from her latest album, was playlisted for 5 weeks on Planet Rock radio. Chantel recorded a live album at the end of March 2019, this was released on the 6th of September 2019.

  • Will Wilde

Will Wilde has taken the harmonica way beyond its traditional blues roots since he first emerged on the music scene in 2010. Wildes hard-edged harmonica steals the spotlight from the traditional blues rock guitar, with a sound that owes as much to Gary Moore as it does to Sonny Boy Williamson. "Im always looking to make new sounds with the harmonica, pushing its boundaries, trying to change peoples perception of it. In fact Wilde has gone one step further and created his own signature "Wilde Tuned" harmonicas so he can play licks that werent possible before. They enable me to hold my own with any blues rock guitarist. Wilde has performed at blues clubs and festivals all over the World and has released four studio albums and one live album: Unleashed (2010), Raw Blues (2013), Live In Hamburg (2015), Bring It On Home (2018) and Bad Luck Friday (2022), as well as appearing as a guest harmonica player on albums by Walter Trout, Earl Thomas, Toby Lee, Dani Wilde, Marcus Malone, Krissy Matthews and Brave Rival. Wilde was nominated "Instrumentalist of the Year" in the UK Blues Awards 2024. Grace & Danger UK Touring Blues Rock Powerhouse. Eastbourne and Brighton based Blues Rock band Grace and Danger are quickly becoming known as the must see new-blood act on the UK music scene. The band consists of the two brothers, the explosive Rory Purdey (Guitar/Vocals) and the highly esteemed Aiden Purdey (Drums/Percussion). As well as playing music festivals and legendary venues such as The Forum (Tunbridge Wells), The Carlisle (Hastings), The Clutha (Glasgow), The Black Heart and The Fiddlers Elbow (Camden) and most recently The Cavern Pub (Liverpool) and Matt & Phreds (Manchester) the band has a particularly devoted following on the South Coast. The guys are often compared to the likes of Prince and The Revolution, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Joe Bonamassa and Rival Sons. Although they have their influences, dont let the comparisons fool you, these guys have a sound all of their own and its clear from their writing; there is something for everyone. Line Up - Rory Purdey - Guitar/Vocals Aiden Purdey - Drums/Percussion The frontman Rory Purdey (vocals, lead guitar) brings an eruptive amalgam of Jimmy Hendrix, Steve Ray Vaughan and Joe Bonamassa. Combined with his signature original sound and tone, he makes his guitar purr whenever he starts to play. Audiences are drawn in by Rorys incredible song-writing, ear-catching vocals and virtuosic guitar playing. With the experienced and highly esteemed Aiden Purdey on drums the band gets space to deliver a dynamic and creative thrill show. His spectacular drumming is as integral to the Grace and Danger sound as John Bonhams to Zeppelin, or Keith Moons to The Whos. As well as keeping a tight groove for the band to work with, Aiden is also known for his impressive drum solos which have become a staple of their longer shows. Aiden is also highly in demand as a live and studio session drummer who is well versed in all genres. Over the years the boys have had various different line ups and have discovered that it works best when they are the driving force behind the band with less moving parts. That being said they have been very lucky to have been able to play with various fantastic bass players over the years and have some of the best Sussex and the wider areas has to offer at their disposal, so they will always have a full line up to rock with when the time calls for it. They also have a huge influence on their musical heritage. Rory and Aidens Uncle John Martyn (OBE) give them an extra special bond to not only the name of the band but the music they produce within. My Uncle, John Martyn, had a special connection to music there was a directness and integrity to his playing and writing we hope we carry on some of that legacy..

  • Goldie Lookin' Chain

Coming straight out of Newport The GLC are officially Britain’s biggest rap group. Known for classics like “Guns don’t kill people rappers do”, The GLC started almost by accident around the turn of the century with Eggsy’s impromptu rap about his tracksuit over a serious piece of music Rhys was working on in the studio. Adam Hussain, Billy Webb, Mystkal, the Maggot, 2hats and Mike Balls convinced Rhys to record the rap.

Fuelled by Lambrini, fags, Chicken Tikka Massala and weed they all took to the mic and The GLC’s first album “Don’t Blame the Chain” was born. And so it began, the journey which has so far seen The GLC rise to the top of the charts, perform around the world and at every major festival in the Western Hemisphere and make millions of people laugh along the way. Now many years since that first rap about Eggsy’s tracksuit, the boys are still keeping it real in the rap game and hold the title of the most successful UK rap act ever. To date The GLC have released 18 albums… and amazingly none of them have died yet. You knows it!
