Romeo Stodart is the lead singer/songwriter in the much loved London based rock n roll harmony group The Magic Numbers.

The band comprising of two pairs of brothers and sisters have released five critically acclaimed albums thus far including the self-titled Mercury Music Prize nominated, million selling debut. Alongside The Magic Numbers, Romeo has collaborated with a vast array of artists including writing songs for & with the late Jane Birkin, Edwyn Collins, Amadou & Mariam, The Chemical Brothers and Ren Harvieu, producing records for Billy Bragg, Natalie Imbruglia & Kathryn Williams to name a few. He has also contributed his unique guitar playing style to various projects, adding banjo, guitar & harmonies on the Spiritualized album, Sweet Heart Sweet Light, touring with Jimmy Webb & The Webb Brothers to playing as part of Damon Albarn’s Africa Express collective. Romeo is currently putting the finishing touches to a new Magic Numbers album due to be released early next year.

Mercury Music Prize nominee Joe Webb performs debut concert in Hastings.

Pianist Joe Webb has emerged as a leading force on the global jazz scene today, captivating audiences with his exceptional talent and rockstar-like persona. One of the UK's most captivating young pianists, he collaborated with renowned artists such as Raye, Wynton Marsalis and Jamie Cullum.

After the success of 2025's Hamstrings & Hurricanes album, which was shortlisted for the prestigious mercury prize, Joe and his trio will be performing music from their new album NEATH BEAT at this show.

Webb's ability to seamlessly intertwine his love for football, and his deep-rooted connection to the Jazz piano tradition, will no doubt captivate audiences and create an excitement from global audiences.

He will be joined as ever by Will Sach (double bass) and Sam Jesson (drums) .

The Wonderful World of Bechet

Sidney Bechet is the most revered saxophonist to come out of New Orleans, known for his stentorian sound and stirring musicality, he was a forerunner of jazz music, inspiring countless musicians to come including the Adrian Cox Trio. The Wonderful World Of Bechet explores Bechet's impact on the world of music, through his contributions as a clarinettist, composer (Si Tu Vois Ma Mère) and recording artist (Summertime).

The Adrian Cox Trio are an established group who have toured extensively worldwide focused on presenting music from the New Orleans tradition. Comprised of clarinet, guitar & double Bass, the trio respectfully and accessibly bring this music into the 21st century.

Joni Mitchells Blue: An Evening in Laurel Canyon pays tribute to this extraordinary moment in music history.

Performed live by a six-piece band with vocals, the first half of the show journeys through the songs of Laurel Canyons legendary residents, including Neil Young, James Taylor, The Byrds, The Mamas & The Papas, Frank Zappa, Eagles, Carole King, and more.

Concert pianist and actor, Mike Hatchard, played Beethoven throughout August in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to rave reviews. We meet a reincarnation of Beethoven and his sometimes bizarre thinking as he reminisces, fumes, jokes, explains and complains about life, Mozart, Bach, music of the future and being known just for the opening of his Fifth Symphony. And he plays brilliantly some of his admired piano pieces.

The show combines music, storytelling and comedy to create an affectionate and entertaining portrait of a remarkable musician as he looks back on a life shaped by music and ambition.

Joining him on stage is English comedian, actor, television presenter and bass-baritone singer Alexander Armstrong, whose rich vocals and natural charm promises to bring humour, warmth, and festive sparkle to every performance.

Audiences will be invited to put on their favourite Christmas jumper and sing along with them both to a joyful mix of traditional Christmas carols, modern festive favourites, and timeless seasonal classics in the most Christmas of settings.

Aled Jones MBE has had an extraordinary career over the past four decades. He is the original crossover star, has sung for the Pope and the Royal Family, has received an MBE, released over 40 albums, with over 10 million album sales and has over 40 Silver, Gold and Platinum Discs. After beginning his career at the age of 12, Aled became one of the world’s most successful boy sopranos, releasing 12 hit albums in 4 years, he was the first classical artist to have 2 albums in the Top 5 of the Official Album Charts. Aled has built an extensive career as a TV and radio presenter and hosts one of the nations most loved Classic FM shows and BBC1 Songs of Praise - all whilst continuing to record and tour. Last year, Aled also released his third book, Aled’s Book of Blessings for 2026 and is working on his next book release.

Alexander Armstrong is best known as one half of the comedy duo Armstrong and Miller, who had series on Channel 4 and BBC1. As well as hosting Classic FM’s flagship weekday mid-morning programme, Alexander continues to be a regular on the BBC series Have I Got News For You, having hosted more than 40 times and helms the hugely popular TV quiz show Pointless on BBC1. More recently, he has found success as a travel presenter, he makes his 5th travel series for Channel 5 in the US in Summer ‘26. He published his bestselling debut children’s novel, Evenfall: The Golden Linnet, in 2024 and the follow-up in the Evenfall series, The Tempest Stone in February 2026.

Violinist Jane Gordon brings her critically acclaimed Rautio Piano Trio to Kino-Teatr for a special afternoon concert exploring the people, places and connections behind the music of the Classical era. At the heart of the programme is Marianne Martines - composer, singer, keyboard player and host of one of eighteenth-century Vienna's most important musical salons. Her music is heard alongside Haydn and Beethoven, offering a glimpseinto a richly interconnected musical world shaped by friendship, influence, ambition and aristocratic patronage.

The programme is performed on a fortepiano specially brought to Kino-Teatr from Glyndebourne, bringing the distinctive sound and character of the eighteenth-century keyboard to the music and recreating something of the sound world in which these workswere first heard.

The Rautio Piano Trio has built an international reputation over more than two decades of performing and recording, with appearances at major UK venues including Wigmore Hall, Kings Place and the Southbank Centre, as well as concertsacross Europe. Their discography spans repertoire from Mozart and Haydn to Beethoven and Schubert, with recordings receiving five-star reviews in BBC Music Magazine andrecommendations in The Strad.

The Trio is one of a very few ensembles undertaking a complete recording of Beethoven's piano trios on fortepiano, for Resonus Classics - an ambitious multi-volume project exploring the works through historically informed performance while bringing theirdistinctive musical voice to the repertoire. Alongside the Classical and Romantic repertoire, the Trio champions contemporary music and the work of women composers, and performs on both period and modern instruments.

Highlights to look out for include the youngest artist to apply yet, 9 year old Ruby Stewart-Belance selling A4/A3 prints of her 'sarcastic animal drawings' and Duncan Weston, who also works under the name Petro and is currently aged 53 and a half, began his career as a graffiti artist in the 80's, It's Duncan's first BAAM and he will be having a studio sale, bringing 'a celebration of past and present prints, originals and goodies at unheard of discounted prices just for the good people visiting BAAM!!'

The event will also feature an exclusive lambic beer bar and live performances and DJ's throughout the day.

On 14th October 1066, Duke William's Norman army met King Harold's Saxon army in a battle that changed the course of English history. Afterwards the conquering William founded Battle Abbey to commemorate his victory.

The real bricks and mortar of the band are a heady mix of bands from Englands Scarborough Strip (think Sunset Strip but with less debauchery, more chips and an untapped resource of talent since five Little Angels flew big in 88). Players Scott Wardell (vocals guitar), Andy Jackson (guitars vocals), Chris Mayes (drums vocals) and Wayne Dowkes White (bass) finally came together just prior to the world shutting down in 2020. Rather than dwell on not being able to bring their collective talents to the stage, they started the socially distanced writing sessions that bought the plot for the house they were about to build. Each man brought a different musical path to the band, and you can hear them all as the album unfolds. Eclectic influences ranging from classic rock, funk, emo, nu-metal and melodic rock are mixed perfectly across the ten songs and brick by harmony laden brick they build a unique sound that transcends all of the aforementioned genres.

John Hackett has been a much-loved and admired figure in the progressive rock scene since the mid-70's; best-known for his flute work with his brother, former Genesis guitarist, Steve Hackett on albums such as Voyage of The Acolyte, Please Don't Touch and Spectral Mornings alongside his own solo albums Checking Out Of London, Another Life and The Piper Plays His Tune.

"John Hackett Band delivered an eclectic, technically accomplished performance that embodied the core spirit of prog rock. It moved from lyrical flute passages to dynamic instrumental flourishes. Together, the band created a sound that was intricate and engaging, fusing elements of rock, jazz, classical, and funk, but never lost cohesion. Born in Bulgaria, Turkish born Birsen Ulucan went to Dobri Hristov Music School in Varna and studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, University of London. An established concert pianist, Birsen performed with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Ferenc Liszt Chamber Orchestra and a variety of leading Philharmonic Orchestras and Opera Houses in Turkey and worldwide. Birsen is based in Istanbul.

Ozcan Ulucan is an Istanbul based violinist. He studied at Mimar Sinan University Music Department in the class of Salim Akcil. During 1993-95 he received a scholarship from the Turkish Educational Foundation (TEV) and did his postgraduate studies at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London in the violin class of Prof. Yfrah Neaman.

Coffee Concert: Fenella Humphreys (violin)

Fenella Humphreys, winner of BBC Music Magazine Awards in 2025, 2023 and 2018, has attracted critical admiration and audience acclaim with the grace and intensity of her remarkable performances.

Artist in Residence at London's Wigmore Hall for the 2025/6 season, Fenella has been enjoying premieres of new works by Sally Beamish, Tom Coult, Stephen McNeff and Anna Berg as well as performances with orchestras including CBSO and London Mozart Players. Fenella performs widely as a soloist.

Her recent album of Sibelius' solo works with BBC National Orchestra of Wales has been featured in BBC Radio 3's Building a Library and Gramophone Magazine's Guide to the Concerto. BBC Music Magazine wrote of the recording: "Fenella Humphreys's playing is a genuine revelation in the way it brings out the music's dark and introspective qualities, with no shortage of technical panache."

Released in 2024, her Chandos recording of Adrian Sutton's Violin Concerto with BBC Philharmonic won BBC Music Magazine's 2025 Premiere Award, with the Strad Magazine writing "Humphreys brings her endlessly unfurling violin lines taut, silvery weightlessness." The concerto was written for her in 2023, and premiered at the Southbank Centre with the RPO.

Fenella plays on a beautiful G.B. Guadagnini violin kindly on loan from Jonathan Sparey. She will be performing a versatile programme for solo violin including pieces by Paganini.

This recital pairs Schubert with Chopin, and Satie with Debussy composers who found remarkable expression in intimate musical forms.

Schuberts Moments Musicaux and Chopins Mazurkas share a quixotic nature and the spirit of experiment. Both explore surprising turns of harmony and rhythm: Schubert through shifting moods and unexpected modulations, and Chopin through subtle rhythmic inflections that transform the Polish dance into something deeply personal and poetic.

In the second half, Satie and Debussy reflect a friendship marked by both admiration and tension. Saties Gnossiennes and Je te veux reveal his spare, unconventional style, while Debussys Clair de lune, The Snow Is Dancing, and Minstrels expand these ideas with greater colour and nuance shaped, too, by the lingering influence of Chopin.

Together, these works trace a path from Romantic intimacy to modern refinement, showing how small forms can hold entire worlds of imagination.

Each a soloist in their own right, we have a shared passion for bringing a dynamic and fresh energy to the repertoire, informing our work with a deep understanding of historical performance practice. This group of friends champions the consort music of Englands musical golden-age with a vivid sense of discovery, inviting new listeners into its enduring beauty.

The violls bore all an equall share in the consort, and carrying the same aire, there was no reason to choose one part before another. But of the late that republica among the consortiers is dissolved, and there is always some violin spark, that thinks himself above all the rest, and above the musick itself also, if it be not screwed up to the top of its capability […] How far this unsociable and malcreate behaviour is an hindrance to the best use of consort musick, is easily conceived."

Inspired by the performances of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford, the UK stars are hitting the road (with Pasquale at the wheel of the tour bus).

Packed with laughs and songs, backed by a 15-piece band, the show will let the audience in on the banter between some of television's best-loved stars - who are also very close friends.

Bradley Walsh says: "People are starved of our type of entertainment - songs, stories, jokes - and banter! It's an homage to the Rat Pack but brought up to the modern day, and its a fantastic night. We are just thrilled. We all share the same dressing room - we're mates. We've known each other for so long now - and the show is about warmth and family - because we are. It's great, really great."

Walsh was joined by his three mates and the Barry Robinson Big Band for a one-off show at the Palladium in London in March, and the idea was born for a full-on Prat Pack tour.

Fans can expect an evening packed with jokes that can only come from the chemistry of such seasoned entertainers. Walsh, Conley and Richie were all Pontins Bluecoats earlier in their careers and Pasquale was a Warner's Greencoat, giving them all a grounding in variety before decades-long careers at the very top of entertainment.

Born in Aleppo, Syria, Riyad became an international pianist and multiple prize-winner, described as one of the most exciting artists of his generation. He has received compliments from artists such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Mitsuko Uchida, and Daniel Barenboim, who wrote that 'Riyad reached an impressive level of musicianship and has a very high level of music sensitivity'.

Riyad has recently made his debuts at some of the UK's most prestigious venues, including Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, The Barbican and St. John's Smith Square in London, as well as Bridgwater Hall and Stoller Hall in Manchester. He has performed in the USA at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, the Dame Myra Hess/Chicago Cultural Center and Princeton University. In Europe, Riyad has appeared at the Yehudi Menuhin Forum in Switzerland and performed at numerous venues across France, Spain, Germany, Holland, Lebanon and Syria.

Riyad Nicolas has performed as a soloist with many renowned orchestras, such as the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, Young Musician Symphony Orchestra, the Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra.

Riyad has been selected as an Artist by both The Countess of Munster Trust and The Tillett Trust in London. He won many international piano competitions, including 1st Prize at the Francaix International Piano Competition in Paris, 1st Prize at the Liszt Ferenc International Piano Competition, and the Norah Sande Award in the UK. He won a Gold Medal at the Berliner International Music Competition and has been awarded prizes at the Seiler International Piano Competition in Greece, the London International Piano Competition and the Ciutat de Carlet International Piano Competition in Spain. He was a finalist at the Busoni International Piano Competition in Italy.

Shelagh Davis, Jilly Hall, Lotte Risbridger and Nicky McDonald are the Acappella Bellas. Based in Hastings and St Leonards they met at a community choir discovering a shared love of the haunting harmonies of Eastern European music and started singing together in 2013.

In 2024 The Telescopes released three acclaimed albums followed by a 3 month tour of the UK and Europe. Now the all embracing sounds of The Telescopes return with an lean blitz of seditionary hits.

Take a jolt of Static Charge and step beyond the realm of natural vision. Stone age beats, outsider sounds, low end disturbance unite in resistance to the new weirdness of existence. This is The Telescopes 8th album for Tapete Records, the sound of four different people playing in a room Together.

The Telescopes experience is known for having an ever revolving line up that can vary between one and twenty people.

On this album The Telescopes are a four piece consisting of The Telescopes founder and protagonist Stephen Lawrie on guitar and vocals, Darrell Carter on guitar, Robert Prest on bass with John Lynch on drums and percussion.

Interesting facts- John can also be found playing with The Jonny Halifax Invocation. Darrell releases great music under the name of Fromme and Robert’s Father used to fly Fela Kuti around in a private jet.

The album was written, recorded and produced within two month period from November 2025 to January 2026 at Stephen Lawrie’s Butterfly House studio in Shropshire. The whole album was recorded mostly live with the only overdubs being vocal harmonies. There are seven songs in total.

Let's meet the band…

Tom Herbert is a prominent British double and electric bass player known for his work in contemporary jazz, alternative, and experimental music. He is a founding and core member of Mercury Music Prize-nominated bands The Invisible and Polar Bear, as well as the jazz-punk group Acoustic Ladyland.

Peter Ibbetson is a drummer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, electronic music producer, and educator. Based primarily out of South London for over 16 years before relocating to Hastings, he is widely recognized across the UK music scene for effortlessly bridging the gaps between jazz, free improvisation, electronic music, folk, and post rock.

Tom Challenger is an acclaimed British tenor saxophonist, improviser, composer, and educator based in London. Born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, he has established himself as a central figure in the UK's contemporary jazz and experimental music scenes. He is highly regarded for his ability to blur the boundaries between structured composition and open improvisation. Most recently he released May Spring Last A Lifetime, a collaborative album with Evan Parker.

This performance will happen in two parts.

Clay Pipe Music is thrilled to welcome back Oliver Cherer with a new Gilroy Mere album Furlongs.

Since his 2023 album Gilden Gate, Ollie has kept himself busy. He has recorded an album and toured internationally with the Miki Berenyi Trio, and played bass in Lol Tolhursts band. Alongside this, he has made three albums with Hastings-based group Aircooled, and performed live with them in support of The Jesus and Mary Chain and Suede. He has also collaborated with long-time writing partner Riz Maslen on the soundtrack for Magick Hastings, a film by Michael Smith.

In early 2025, Ollie was diagnosed with cancer and had to cut short a tour to return home, travelling daily to Brighton Hospital for radiotherapy treatment.

Every day for six weeks I made the forty mile train journey from my home in St-Leonard's-on-Sea along the foot of the Downs, passing the Long Man twice a day. With my laptop and some headphones, I filled the journey time making music. Cutting through the landscape that Ravilious had painted 90 years earlier, the muted colours and undulations became textures, tempos and modulations. After more than a month immersed in his scenery, my laptop sketches crystalized into something that began to sound like a record, and by the end of the six weeks, I had more than enough material for this album.

Many of the pieces on this record were inspired by specific paintings that were already familiar to me, while others are reactions to the landscape gently swooshing past the windows of the train and which I knew from walking its footpaths with an ordnance survey map in hand. Furlongs is the name of the cottage where Eric and his wife Tirzah often stayed, and where he created many of his paintings. Beachy Head and Chalk Paths are tributes to well-known Ravilious works, whereas Hope Gap is an exploration of a place with an isolated coastal bleakness that I felt reflected the sadness of his early death in 1942, on an RAF search and rescue mission over the Icelandic sea.

While finishing the recordings I called on friends to help out on a few pieces which lead to contributions from Helen Edwards on clarinet, Hutch Demoulpied on trumpet and flute and stalwart collaborator Riz Maslen on flute and vocal. It was all written on the train and recorded in my studio, The Laundry, in St Leonard's on Sea.

Almost a year after diagnosis, Ollie was given the all clear, and is now back at work touring, recording and playing music.

Girlschool

Girlschool is a British rock band formed in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene in the 1970s and is frequently associated with contemporaries Motörhead. They are the longest-running all-female rock band, still active after almost 40 years.

Originally formed in 1975 from a school band called Painted Lady, Girlschool enjoyed strong media exposure and commercial success in the UK in the early 1980s with three albums of "punk-tinged metal" and a few singles.

During their career, Girlschool traveled the world, playing in many rock and metal festivals and co-headlining with important hard rock and heavy metal bands. They maintain a worldwide cult following and are an inspiration for many female rock musicians. Original members Kim McAuliffe, Denise Dufort, and long-time member Jackie Chambers are still in the band. Bassist Olivia Airey joined in 2024.

Raven

RAVEN are that rare thing in music, true originals - cut these guys with a razor and they will BLEED true heavy metal - a more intense live band does not exist on this planet! Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne in North East England back in 1974 (yes - 46 YEARS ago!!!) the brothers Gallagher cut their teeth playing the pubs & clubs until solidifying their line up in 1980 with drummer Rob Hunter.

The trio went on to release three of the most influential metal albums of the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) inspiring every band of that era and beyond. Basically, without Raven you just would not have thrash/speed metal…. after all, the band did give Metallica & Anthrax their first tours!

Following an insane blur of world touring over the last 3 years, the guys released the next RAVEN opus, "Metal City" in September 2020 taking their game to the next level…a scorcher of immense proportions!

In a cynical musical landscape these days, where bands are not "gangs "but faceless corporations, RAVEN are a band that are REAL not FAKE - and proud of it!

Alcatrazz

Alcatrazz is a heavy metal band that was formed in Los Angeles in 1983 by Jimmy Waldo, Gary Shea (both formerly of melodic rock band New England) and Graham Bonnet (formerly of Rainbow and Michael Schenker Group). The initial line-up was completed by the addition of young Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen, who had recently left American metal band Steeler, and former Iron Butterfly drummer Jan Uvena, who had just recently departed Alice Cooper's backing band. It was Shea that named the band "Alcatrazz"; the misspelling of the famous prison's name deliberate.

Alcatrazz are currently writing and recording for a 2026 album release.

Airforce

After disbanding in 1997, Airforce took to the stage once again in 2008 with Chop Pitman being the only original member involved. The band underwent a number of line-up changes over the next 8 years until 2016, when the retro-spective album "Judgement Day" was released. This album marked the return of the original Airforce line- up of Chop Pitman, Doug Sampson and Tony Hatton, with new recruit Dilian Arnaudov on vocals.

With line-up complete, Airforce released several EPs, including songs with guest appearances from former Iron Maiden vocalists Paul Di'Anno and Paul Mario Day. Their most memorable live performances include North American tours which won loyalty of new fans, as well as the appearance on Hills of Rock festival in Bulgaria, where they played on the same bill as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.

The band continued to tour the UK as well as taking their show to other countries, both in Europe and across the Atlantic, including some festival appearances and a successful tour supporting Steve Harris' British Lion in 2021. When you hear the air-raid siren, you'll know the hour of Airforce has arrived.

Brook Tate is a British painter, writer and musical theatre maker based in Bristol. His production, Birthmarked, premiered on the main stage of the Bristol Old Vic in 2021 and has since had a month's run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023 - receiving high praise and recognition as one of the 'Best Shows At Fringe' by The Stage. His breakthrough teaching system of Multicolour Maths is a new method designed to help children and adults learn the foundations of mathematics using only colours and shapes, removing numerals and symbols that can at times trigger anxiety for many students.

The Multicolour Maths method came to Brook Tate in a dream after being inspired by mathematician Alan Turing. He has since trialled it in schools and presented it on the BBC, to PhD students, Oxbridge professo

Handels oratorio Messiah is possibly the best-known choral work in the world, regularly performed in concert halls and theatres world-wide as well as featuring in a huge number of films and TV series. It is full of wonderful and memorable tunes, with the exciting Hallelujah chorus only one of many powerful choruses, which are balanced with dramatic and beautiful solos. While the English text is drawn from the Old and New Testaments, its themes of suffering, hope and redemption are universal, and Messiah's dramatic theatricality and range of emotional expression make it a riveting concert experience.

Bexhill Choral Society will be accompanied by the Sussex Concert Orchestra conducted by Kenneth Roberts, and the soloists will be Helen May da Silva (soprano), Sarah Denbee (mezzo-soprano), Kristian Thorkildsen (tenor), and Peter Grevatt (baritone).

Bexhill Choral Society is a friendly non-audition choir and warmly welcomes new members. London’s The Hanging Stars return with their sixth album, Just A Day - a dazzling collection of four-part harmonies, shimmering twelve-string guitars and chiming songs, touching on themes of longing, new beginnings and the fragility of the everyday. Recorded at Edwyn Collin’s legendary Clashnarrow Studios in the Scottish Highlands, the album marks a bold new chapter for the band, produced with the invaluable guidance of Teenage Fanclub’s Gerard Love.

A line-up change at the end of 2024 proved to be a galvanising moment for The Hanging Stars. “We needed to rethink things,” says guitarist Patrick Ralla. “A new leaner approach - bass, drums, guitars, four-part harmonies. Certainly worked for The Byrds, Big Star and Teenage Fanclub.” The result is a wonderfully energising record full of catchy hooks and a renewed vision. The songs are designed to take the listener away from it all… even if it's just for a little while.

Central to the record’s new direction was the involvement of Gerard Love - one third of Teenage Fanclub’s celebrated songwriting trio and the artist behind Lightships. Starting from demos exchanged between Glasgow and London, Love helped the band strip things back to their essence, ever so gently guiding them toward their finest work to date. He also joined the band for a week of recording, contributing vocals, arrangement ideas and by all accounts a mean vegan curry.

Elmore String Quartet: Unfurling

Haydns Op. 74/1 opens a programme that celebrates the extraordinary range and imagination of the string quartet. Leo Geyers new work, Unfurling, brings a fresh contemporary voice to the programme, while Bridges evocative setting of LondonderryAir offers a brief glimpse into his deeply personal response to the world around him. At its heart is Ravels extraordinary String Quartet, a work of colour, imagination and astonishingrefinement, and one of the great masterpieces of the repertoire.

Winners of the prestigious Royal Over-Seas League International Music Competition (2026), the Elmore Quartet are quickly gaining recognition as one of the leading British Quartets of their generation. They hold the position of Hans Keller Chamber Fellows at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, following a Fellowship position at the Royal Northern College of Music teaching chamber music to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.

Over the past three years, the Elmore Quartet have recorded multiple times for BBC Radio 3 and performed at esteemed venues throughout the UK and Europe, including Wigmore Hall, Kings Place London, Brighton Dome and Bridgewater Hall. In 2024, they wereawarded Third Prize at the 13th edition of the Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Upcoming plans include an album release with Rubicon Classics in Autumn 2026 and further album projects with Heritage Records over the next few years.

BBC Radio 3 New Generation Baroque Ensemble (2021/23) Ensemble Molire present their programme Hidden Gems; a diverse, beautiful and rarely heard collection of 17th and 18th century French baroque chamber music. The ensemble explores a variety of different sound worlds, from an unusual and rich bass duet by Corrette, a boisterous overture from Collin de Blamont and stylish pices de clavecin by Duphly. Discover a whole host of new music to add to your playlist in this latest instalment from Ensemble Molire.

Ensemble Molire have gained a reputation as an established early music ensemble. Their unique line-up of instruments provides memorable and creative programmes from the repertoire of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, all inspired by the music of the French Baroque. Ensemble Molire were selected as the first ever BBC Radio 3 New Generation Baroque Ensemble for two years from October 2021, in partnership with BBC Radio 3, the National Centre for Early Music and the Royal College of Music. They have performed throughout the UK and Europe, including concerts at the Buxton International Festival, Beverley Early Music Festival, Lammermuir Festival, MA Festival Fringe in Bruges and Festival Oude Muziek Fringe in Utrecht. The group made their debut at the London Festival of Baroque Music under the 'Future Artists' scheme, and are also former members of the BREMF Live! pro- gramme. In 2017, they reached the finals of the York Early Music International Young Artists Competition.

Ensemble Molires debut album, The Kings Playlist, was released on Linn Records in March 2024. Their new album Hidden Gems is due for release on Resonus Classics autumn 2026.

The Liverpool Psychedelic Society brings to The Piper the one and only Pete Bassman, from the legendary Spacemen 3. Early finish (10pm)

Pete Bassman (aka Pete Bain) is one of the original members of Spacemen 3, which can be considered one of the most influential psych bands of all time. From modest beginnings in Rugby, Spacemen 3 went on to influence generations of psych rockers worldwide with albums such as 'Sound of Confusion', 'The Perfect Prescription' and 'Performance' - all featuring Pete Bassman.

Pete left Spacemen 3 (and was replaced by Will Carruthers) and formed other influential and equally excellent projects, such as The Darkside and Alpha Stone. Pete Bassman is the only original member of Spacemen 3 still based in Rugby and, for our money, he remains the best and most "spaceman" member of Spacemen 3. His live sets are real psychedelic trips and he's STILL light years ahead of anyone else on the scene. Simply unmissable.

Main support on the night will be Thee Lucifer Sams, the visionary psychedelic rock band from Liverpool, who refuses to do social media profiles or stream their music: their semi-improvised jams reminiscent of Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd , mixed with Hawkwind drive and Sonic Youth noise can only be experienced live. Audiences as far afield as Germany, Iceland and Sweden have enjoyed their sets - no two Thee Lucifer Sams shows are ever the same, and they were lauded by renowned writer John Robb as "stunning" live.

Black Arches are an experimental group from Hastings, fusing psychedelia, electronics, spoken word and noise rock in wild live improvisations. They regularly collaborate with Medway Scene legend Sexton Ming and are not to be missed!

Liverpool Psychedelic Society nights are more than just gigs, but true psychedelic happenings, with visuals and great vibes all night.

Programme:Voices Across Time - Amy Beach; World Premiere of Akhmatova Requiem by J. Rautio

Violinist Jane Gordon brings her critically acclaimed Rautio Piano Trio with special guests Hannah Deans-Williams, soprano and Steve Williams, clarinet, for the festival finale, bringing together the voices of two remarkable women and celebrating creative voice,resilience and the power of artistic expression.

At the heart of the programme are two distinctive creative voices that emerged in very different circumstances. Amy Beach forged a path as a composer in a musical world largely closed to women, while Anna Akhmatova gave voice to individual and collectivesuffering under repression. Separated by time and circumstance, their work shares a profound sense of resilience and a belief in the enduring power of artistic expression. This concert sees the world premiere of Jan Rautios Requiem, a setting of Akhmatovaspoetry for soprano and ensemble.

Anna Akhmatova (18891966) was one of Russias most important poets of the twentieth century. Her poetry combines emotional intensity with an extraordinary economy of language, exploring love, loss, memory and the passage of time. As Soviet repressionintensified, her work became a powerful witness to personal and collective suffering, shaped by war, persecution and the imprisonment of her son. Despite censorship and suppression, Akhmatova continued to write, and her poems were memorised and passed from person to person.

Amy Beach (18671944) was the first successful American woman to make a career as a composer and concert pianist. Largely self-taught as a composer, she overcame the restrictions placed on women in musical life at the time to establish an internationalreputation. Her music combines the harmonic language of late Romanticism with influences from American folk music and her own experiences as a pianist.

Hannah Deans-Williams is a London-based soprano working across Europe as a soloist and ensemble singer, specialising in contemporary music. From 2026 she is an Equilibrium Young Artist and was also selected for Glyndebourne Opera Lab. Recent highlights include her debut at the Salzburger Festspiele in Nonos Io Frammento del Prometeo, performances with London Sinfonietta and EXAUDI, and Brett Deans Wolf Lieder with Riot Ensemble, conducted by the composer.

Clarinettist Steve Williams has performed with many of the UKs leading symphony, chamber and opera orchestras and ensembles including the Britten Sinfonia, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, English Touring Opera, Manchester Camerata, Haffner Wind Ensemble, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Glyndebourne Sinfonia among others.

The Rautio Piano Trio is a London-based ensemble that has performed extensively across the UK and Europe for over a decade. The Trio is currently recording the complete Beethoven piano trios on fortepiano for Resonus Classics, with the first volumes receivingfive stars in BBC Music Magazine. Their repertoire spans 18th- and 19th-century works on period and modern instruments, alongside contemporary music and an increasing focus on works by women composers.

Led by Artistic Director Jane Gordon, the Felix Ensemble brings together Schoenbergs extraordinary sextet with Brahmss radiant Sextet No. 2. Written almost forty years apart, these two great works reveal contrasting musical worlds, yet both explore profound emotional transformation. From Brahmss warmth and lyricism to Schoenbergs intense and richly coloured sound world, the programme moves between intimacy and intensity, darkness and light.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT Stagecoach buses operate from Hastings and St Leonards stations direct to the venue. Connecting buses from Rye, Tenterden and Eastbourne are also in operation - please check timetables before you travel.

PLEASE NOTE: The exhibition is located on the lower ground floor of the venue, accessible via a short flight of stairs. Full wheelchair access to the exhibition hall is available via a lift; venue staff will assist with this if required. Regretfully, pets are not permitted in the venue with the exception of guide dogs. Most traders will accept card payments, but smaller trade stands/ pre-loved stands may be cash only. The Hastings Rock Choir is led by East Sussex based musician Esther Jones. The choir will be performing locally again soon so it's a chance for you to join in, sing and perform without pressure and under the supportive guidance of Esther. Rock Choir members have performed at the Royal Albert Hall, on top of the BT tower and many more iconic venues across the country.

Whether you only sing in the shower or along to your car radio, or whether you see yourself belting out a showstopper at Wembley Arena (which we did! - for the ITV1 documentary 'The Choir that Rocks'), there's a place for you in the Hastings Rock Choir. Heaven 17 are a British synthpop band originating in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England that was formed in 1980, having much 80s success with their electronic sound. Taking their name from a fictional group mentioned in Anthony Burgess's novel A Clockwork Orange (where 'The Heaven Seventeen' are at number 4 in the charts with 'Inside'), Heaven 17 formed when Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware split from their earlier group, The Human League, and devised the production company British Electric Foundation (B.E.F.).

Scott Lavene is a British singer-songwriter and storyteller whose work blends kitchen-sink realism with dark humour, poetic grit, and a distinctly English sense of place. Emerging from Essex, Lavene has carved out a niche as a chronicler of the overlooked; his songs populated by down-and-outs, late-night wanderers, and small-town dreamers.

Before his music career gained traction, Lavene spent years working a range of everyday jobs, experiences that would later inform the unvarnished authenticity of his lyrics. His songs often feel like short stories set to music, delivered in a conversational, almost spoken-word style that sits somewhere between indie folk and post-punk.

His music is often compared to a lineage of British storytellers, Ian Dury, Elvis Costello, John Cooper Clarke, Jarvis Cocker and Robyn Hitchcock but, even so, Lavene’s voice remains singular. He has a gift for balancing melancholy with wit, finding beauty and absurdity in the mundane corners of modern life.

On stage, Lavene’s performances are intimate and magnetic, driven as much by his narrative delivery as by melody. Whether backed by a full band or performing solo, he creates a sense of closeness that draws audiences into his world.

In 2026, Scott will be playing the best of his four solo albums as well as some new material and stories, bringing the banter along with two beautiful vintage acoustic guitars.

The HC group began in 2003, is now 15 albums deep, and has never felt more alive. Forever changing. Always pushing forward. Merging the repetition of Oneida and The Fall with touches of Gang Of Four / Lungfish / Sabbath.

HC band members have been in, or are in, numerous other projects, a wide sounding list of groups. From Haress to PJ Harvey via Joeyfat and more. HC is a big focus, a focal point. Every band is connected.

They recorded their most recent album, Heaven Was Wild, in November of 2024 . The album was released in March of 2026 (Wrong Speed Records in the UK, Learning Curve in the USA). The band had gone quiet. No gigs leading up to the album. No gigs after the album. No live performances for two years.

They were working behind the scenes. The line-up was mutating. They'd known Tom House for years. His bands Charlottefield and Sweet Williams are irrepressible, just like he is. An infectious melody. A twisted lyric. An ear for the dark. Tom was the perfect replacement for former frontman, Paul, who has taken a step back from music and is focussing elsewhere.

Keeping some old songs but also working on an entirely new set the band toiled in Birmingham and Somerset. Long weekends. Regular get togethers. Getting it correct. Two years of rehearsals and writing.

So, now, with a new front person, fresh fire and a whole new set of songs the band is taking it out. There will be a new album in 2027. There will be WAY more live shows. Onwards.

Explore the shadowy history of folk horror and its connection to ancient customs and rituals on the British Isles. Followed by Q&A.

Why do stories of ghosts, witches and shapes in the night continue to haunt our imaginations? What is it about those ancient landscapes, ruined churches, mist-shrouded moors and lonely country lanes which so frequently feature in folk horror tales? In this talk, Professor Marisa Linton uncovers the strange and compelling history of folk horror in the British Isles - from eerie legends rooted in pagan belief to tales shaped by the land itself, its forgotten rituals, sacred sites and unsettling past.

Tracing a line from whispered folklore through the chilling ghost stories of M. R. James and Arthur Conan Doyle, and on to Gothic classics such as Bram Stoker’s Dracula, we will explore how folk horror has continually reinvented fear for new generations. From The Wicker Man and Witchfinder General, to modern stories of outsiders stumbling upon remote communities still ruled by “old ways,” the genre has never stopped evolving. Today, folk horror is experiencing a revival, as writers and filmmakers breathe fresh life into ancient legends, revealing that the uncanny is very much alive and thriving in the twenty-first century.

Sonics Collective CIC is proud to present a special, intimate live show to celebrate the release of Isobel Anderson's album END TIMES, performed across a spatial sound system purpose-built by Hastings sound artist Tony Birch, in the atmospheric setting of Hastings Museum's Durbar Hall.

Described by Neil Mason of Moonbuilding as wildly creative and technically spot on, END TIMES was recorded during four solitary stays at Dungeness. Blending voice, electronics and field recordings, the album is a bold yet beautiful container for grieving the collapse of ecosystems, objective reality and our shared humanity, while honouring the beauty that remains and the mystery of prophecy and future-gazing.

Hag Stones symbols of truth, portals and protection recur throughout END TIMES artwork. To open the evening, Tony Birch will premier a live solo Hag Stone performance, where Hag Stones are threaded through piano strings to create shifting harmonics, while controlling the movement of sound in three dimensions across the architecture of the Durbar Hall.

Isobel Anderson is a music-maker, sound artist and performer whose work explores sound, voice, landscape and change. Her work has been presented at V&A Storehouse and Fotografia Europea, broadcast across BBC Radio 2, 3, 4 and 6 Music, and amassed over 30 million Spotify streams.

Tony Birch is a sound artist whose work finds resonance in structures and materials eroded by the elements.

The spectacle marks the 50th anniversary of Tubular Bells, the debut studio album by English multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Mike Oldfield. Oldfield, who was just 17 years old when he started composing the music, recorded and played almost all of the instruments on the album. Conceived in 1971 and finally released in 1973, it gained worldwide acclaim when the opening theme was used for the soundtrack of the horror film The Exorcist. Tubular Bells is a progressive journey through classical, jazz, folk, prog rock and electronica.

Ten performers from Circa Contemporary Circus present Oldfield’s work in its physical form, their heart-stopping acrobatics intricately woven together to reflect the music. The performance is directed by Yaron Lifschitz. The musical director, Robin Smith, has collaborated with Mike Oldfield over three decades including memorable performances of Tubular Bells at Edinburgh Castle in 1992 and at the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony.

Since the early 1980’2 Tyla has led his Dogs D’Amour through the highs and lows of Rock and Roll.

The elegantly scruffy ( now known as shabby chic) band underwent various line up changes over the years but always remained focused on their own style of bluesy rock much like the Rolling Stones and The Faces.

Tyla J Pallas also forged a successful solo career as a songwriter and performer. This allowed him to spend more time on his other passion, art. Indeed, Tyla’s paintings and prints have become much sought after and a couple can usually be found for sale at his live shows.
